It is so important to have these ongoing discussions and initiatives between industry, institutions, and governments. Without these collaborations, progress is extremely difficult.
It was a pleasure to help foster the discussion around Productive City – Port and Industry Integration into City Planning. Great to see forward-thinking leaders like Patrick Van Cauwenberghe from the Port of Antwerp, and Rudy Janssens from Agoria. It was also essential to have the team from neext and Drees & Sommer: Thoralf Krause, Mustafa Kösebay MRICS, Jana Arnet, Christina Hoffmann, and Michael Moradiellos del Molino for organizing and enabling these valuable exchanges.
Valuable Insights from the Event:
The diverse perspectives and expertise of participants from different industries provided us with valuable insights, such as:
🗝️ Ports, as engines for economic success, are vital for the decarbonization of future trade.
🗝️ Hydrogen energy sources may not be the final solution but are a pivotal part of it.
🗝️ Collecting and understanding digital data is important for vigilance and mitigation of cybersecurity risks.
🗝️ Dual focus on sustainability as well as economic viability—there must always be a healthy balance.
🗝️ Money doesn’t change usage; regulations do.
🗝️ The gap between public institutions’ and industries’ understanding of AI potential and general digital solutions raises concerns.
Now it will be critical to leverage the findings into actions. As we continue to foster the AI ecosystem to help governments, institutions, and start-ups, it is essential to enable the different stakeholders to make informed and efficient decisions and implement best-in-class solutions.
Let's all do our part and continue to support institutions and initiatives that foster collaborations and ecosystems.
